Quote from @Bart Blair:

@Karl Denton Are you conducting your rental business through the LLC but with the property in your own name?

So I’m not using the LLC just yet, it’s in my personal name. I’m just doing the accounting and I have separate bank accounts for the property.

I will open a bank account close to that building and have them deposit in there, I also offer my tenants to use Turbo Tenant and I choose this one because it allows them to even build credit every time they pay rent. That is usually the selling point to get them onto that app, i stopped accepting cash and money orders. You have to have 2 means of rent payment and one form of it has to be not electronic, the way around this is you allow them to deposit into the bank down the street from that building and give them no other option.

Thank you for your input Karl. Only, I opened an account with Wells Fargo because they assured me over the phone that tenants could deposit rent there, then the tenant went in and was denied the deposit. I figured out I need a business account, which I don’t have. Chase is the same.
Never had this issue using a small local bank, Look into the same. You’ll hear many talk about how small local banks can offer better accounts, services and even loans that larger banks can’t compare to.

Like a credit union? Okay, thank you

Yes or any small local bank thats only in that county or state. You’ll see them driving around, when you look them up you may see they are only in your state. Henry Washington talks alot about these and has a nice little course talking about the advantages in smaller local banks.
