@Account Closed Thanks for the checklist. The books do touch on most of that stuff so far. He does give emphasis to knowing the laws of whatever market you are investing in. igot a lot to learn before I jump in. Fortunately while I am saving money I have nothing but time to learn and build my network.

Michael Malitz In my current situation that is a little further away than i would like to get started. Thanks for the offer though.

These books are awesome. I am always a little hesitant to buy RE material but this is the best material I own yet. I am going to go ahead and get the creative financing material after seeing the quality here. Great Job.

Welcome Andy,

Congratulations on getting started. I will get there sometime within the next year. It's nice to see other investors in the Grand Rapids area accomplishing what I hope to soon.

Good Luck!

Hello Bigger Pockets,

My name is Jeremiah and I am an aspiring buy and hold investor from Grand Rapids. I've been around Bigger Pockets before and have always been interested in Real Estate investing. My wife and I have recently made the decision that buy and hold real estate investing is going to be the vehicle to our eventual retirement and as such I am here to get involved with and learn as much as possible about that specific topic. I recently purchased the book Brandon wrote on buy and hold real estate and while I am still working through it and all of the great interviews I can wholeheartedly say that if you're interested in Buy and Hold just order the book, you won't regret it.

I've yet to purchase my first property but am actively saving and tracking my own personal expenses so that soon we will be able to get into the game. I believe my next purchase will be the book on creative financing so that maybe I don't have to wait a year or two. But if I do I want to learn as much as I can beforehand.

I hope to get to know a few of you better over the course of my RE career and if there's ever anything I can do for you please don't hesitate to ask. My career is in the concrete construction field so if I can provide any value in that area I would be more than happy.
