Kevin;
Thanks for the reply. I actually have spoken to him as well since this post. I was very impressed with him. I have not signed up for his course but he spent an hour talking to me and answering questions. In the end he helped me decide actually not to sign up for his course until I actually had the time to invest. Again thank you for your response and let me know how his training helps you. I would be interested in that.

Jesse

I am a new investor from Nevada and I happen to be in Jacksonville for a week with a lot of time on my hands. Would be interested in checking out the area and the business if someone in the area has the time.

Around January 15th is when I started deciding to start learning about and planning how I can become a successful REI. Since that time I have
1. Read, well listened to at least 7 books
2. Been on BP learning everyday
3. Talked to a Mortgage Broker about options
4. Had an old tax lien removed from credit report. Waiting for the last agency to finalize. I found it amazing that they would remove it before the 10 years were up but they did. As soon as this is complete I will refinance my personal residence to lower my payments and give me some cash.
5. Talked to a Realtor about buying a 4-5 plex rental property.
6. Sold my truck to free up cash( this one was hard for me and the dogs).
6. Go so sidetracked with BP that now I have to catch up in my college classes. lol.

I am so excited about starting this business.

@Rich; What do you mean when you say a double dip in foreclosures?

This was my personal home and yep it was .99 at home depot. I let my wife talk me into it. My home is in the 250 range. The cheap floor does not go with the rest of this beautiful home. We were at the end of our budget. Would have been worth waiting.

Rich; I think he is talking about the 42 unit property in Oregon that you referred to above..

When we renovated our own home after a fire we put in laminate flooring thinking we were saving so much and couldn't tell the difference. Wrong. I will not do that again. Sometimes it is not worth the savings.

Welcome Cora. I am new as well. Be careful; this site is addicting. You will lose track of time quickly. I have started searching for my first property as well. I am excited about the opportunity. Good luck!

Rob;
I spoke with a lender a couple weeks ago about purchasing a condo in Vegas and he said that I would have a very hard time finding a lender to loan on a condo in Vegas.
