I run a kitchen design and supply business. I also own rentals.

Not all RTAs are the same and Home depot off the shelf are junk.

A kitchen will last 20 plus years so choose wisely.

Feel free to reach out if you need help.

Stanly- feel free to reach out if you would like for kitchen design and cabinets. I have a cabinet design and distributorship. We carry a bunch of lines depending on your price point. We can deliver to your jobsite anywhere in the country.

We can also help you with design. I typically offer a 15 - 20 minute consult to see if we can help you and guide you. If it looks like a fit, we can work together.

If we work together, we will design based on you or your contractors measurements. We provide layout, elevations, 3D renderings and revisions. This is a paid service, but if you buy cabinets from us we waive the design fee.

DM me if you are interested.

I will tell you that RTAs can come in all different qualities. I do not agree at all with the post in regard to them being junk and not lasting. It really will depend on the finish. Most RTAs are much much better than Home Depot or lowes off the shelf.

Ikea Cabinets are particle board and use a cam system that you can over crank and ruin pretty easily. They are also a pain to put together as they are a box in a box system. Once built, they do look nice.

I have been using RTA's as well as pre-builts for many years and have not noticed a difference in the wear between the two. If you are looking in Florida I can help you out. I have cabinet company that distributes RTA, Pre-builts and Custom. It really depends on your price point for your project. 99.9% of the people will not know the difference in the cabinets whether they are RTA, prebuilts or custom.

As long as you have an all wood box, soft close components and build your RTA's with glue and screws, they will last and are awesome. Feel free to reach out if you need help.

Feel free to reach out- I have an RTA company. I can explain the process as well as positives and negatives for RTA versus pre-built. If you email me, I will get back with you later in the day.

Amit-

I run a RTA company. If you need help feel free to reach out. We carry both Framed and Frameless.

As a contractor for over 30 years, I do not personally, recommend painting. It rarely turns out as nice as you think it will; whether it be grain showing, durabilty, or sheen issues.

If you do paint, do a really great job of degreasing, deglossing and priming (use a bonding primer), or the paint will fail over time- especially where the pulls are. Also use a premium enamel like Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel and have it sprayed.

Feel free to reach out with questions. I have helped a lot of people on BiggerPockets with their remodels over the years
