Hello everyone, I have purchased my first rental in Cleveland, Ohio. Eighty percent of the renovation has been completed by me. The neighborhood is a C class area, New roof and furnace installed by contractor. New plumbing, electrical, demolition,landscaping,drywall, bathroom rehab toilet,pedestal sink, ceramic floor tile and tub and wall surround were completed by me. I need recommendations for finding an  affordable contractor or handyman who will finance. Or should I piece out work to places like home depot.  Sorry for the long post, just very overwhelmed.

My biggest fear is making a bad first time investment, and losing my hard earned money. Bad meaning purchasing in the wrong neighborhood and getting tenants from hell.

Hello, Glidden from HD makes a decent porch & floor  satin latex paint. I use there steel gray color to paint my concrete boiler room floor. After nine months my floor is holding up well.

Hello Art , welcome to bigger pockets. 

Newbie investor with excellent credit, I presently own my SFH . I have $20000 to invest so far when I reach my goal of $30000 I will make my first cash purchase. Please chime in should I apply for a investors loan at my local credit union? I dont want to use my present property as collateral.

You would need to have a sump pump installed for the water, and a dehumidifier to remove the moisture to prevent mold and mildew issues.

Please chime in with any advice, How concerned should I be with wet or damp basement?
