Right now I currently live in San Diego, planning on moving to Central FL in July. I currently don't own any property and plan on having $25,000 when I get to fl. I was thinking of starting out livingwith friends and family down there and putting %20 down on a rental to rent out  to gave something with equity. Would my next best step to be buying an ok house with an fha loan that needs a little bit of fixing up for myself? And if so where do I go from there. I'm an hvac service technician making about $70,000 here in San Diego but will probably drop to $50,000-6$0,000 in FL. Thankyou in advance

I'm in the same predicament, my plan is to move in with some family, stack around $10,000 or more, move to FL and buy a triplex or fourplex and live in it. Then fiqure out my next move from there.

Yea I couldn't afford to invest here in California either @tas S.  I have some family and friends in florida and the market is cheap enough there to get my foot in the door to start investing.
