Congrats on going under contract with your first rental property.

Section 8 (housing choice voucher) is merely a voucher from a local housing authority that helps fill the gap for a low income tenant to be able to afford market rates.

Depending on the tenants income, section 8 (housing choice voucher) can cover the whole entire month’s rent.

As part of the sales contract you should get the full terms of the rental agreement going in.

You can contact the housing choice voucher administrator to get the current voucher amount.
