Welcome @Jeremiah T. If you can, download the Meet-Up application and search real estate. There are plenty of different RE meet-ups in the Twin Cities area. There was just a BP Meet-Up last week. There is another that is on Facebook only which is called TwinREIA. It's a small get together but I find it to be beneficial. Best of luck to you!

@Scott Howell The expenses vary depending on where you hang your license. You will pay for being a member of the National Association of Realtors, MLS access, and there is all sorts of miscellaneous fees from your broker. Each one covers certain fees and you cover some or some you pay for everything pretty much. When you talk to different brokers, that is a question I would ask and determine what fits best for your needs.

I am using Real Estate Express to obtain my license. I would recommend a look into them. Very reasonably priced and the courses are well laid out.

@Josh Straka Yes, I for one got sucked into that pitch of the three day intensive training and signed up for it. I thought it was a very reasonable price for three full days of training and networking. One of my fears starting out is estimating rehab costs on the spot so I thought at the very least, I would get some training on that and be able to network which I think makes that a reasonable cost for me.

@Bradley Gudim From what I understand, you are planning on every Monday for your Mastermind?

@Bradley Arthur That one sounds like a fun one. I may have to add that to my list of one's to check out! If you do start one, I will do my best to attend when I am able too. I don't think there is such thing as too much networking!

Has anyone attended the Midwest REIA? If so, thoughts? I attended the orientation meeting the other day and it seemed like a good group but I haven't seen it mentioned on here really.
@Josh Straka Thanks for the advice. I agree with you on the brokerage aspect. I am hoping to continue developing relationships with other investors to learn from on that side of things. I met a realtor with a brokerage in the metro area the other day that seems to be investor friendly and with very low overhead costs and high commission splits so I am planning on meeting with them to discuss in the near future to see if that will be a good fit.

@Josh Straka I couldn't agree with you more about networking and the importance of meeting and creating relationships with like minded people! I went to my first two meet-ups this week and learned a lot and it's great for keeping motivation up. I look forward to continue with them. Thank you for reaching out. I will definitely be in touch!

@David Barnett I have never heard of them. I will give them a look. Thanks for the information!
