@Mike Cumbie

good one.

Thanks everyone for the information.

we are looking in Jacksonville, and Haines City.

We have elderly family there and are looking for something that we can use when we have to go down there.  My wife will probably need to be there more often in the near future too.

Thanks everyone,

I guess I confused the pre-approval with the app.

We went through a loan app. approval to verify our price range a couple months ago, but we are wanting to view a couple properties in Florida, and 'their' lenders are wanting to approve us.

Perhaps I can make sure it is a pre-approval or maybe I can take the qualification from a different lender?

Thanks again everyone.

We are wanting to look at a couple places in Florida next week. We asked to see two properties and the realtor wants us to pre- qualify before she will show those to us. It seems that lately when we ask to look, we are always told we need to get pre qualified before they will show them. Is this normal these days. We don't want our credit checked jut to look at a house or condo! Jack and Cheryl

My wife and I are looking for an agent who can show one or two properties in Jacksonville, Fl. We plan to be in the area on 5/16 and think it would be a good opportunity to look for a vacation place to rent out.

Hello Peter Hoeck glad you are here. You are in the right place to get lots of good info and direction. I do not have many properties, but I recommend an accountant. I also pay a CPA who is also an investor. They tell me how to keep finances in order and they save money ( and their fees are deductible). I have a separate bank account for my personal and rental expenses. I was directed to keep things separate to ease the tax time bookkeeping. That's the main concern, and I also have a spreadsheet to allow tracking expenses and income for each property and tenant. Stay here on BP and learn as much as you can.
I wonder if an LP entity would help protect you
Mine is also an investor who owns property. She is in L.A. Long way from me but the firm there is very good.

Hi Dave Welcome to BP. There is more knowledge here than you can absorb in years. I am in S Indiana and am pretty new at this myself. I am looking at Louisville too, since my wife grew up there and it is pretty close to me. I will try to meet up with you in the near future to compare notes if u want.

I am wanting to look at a property in Jacksonville Fl. during March 15.

Does anyone have a SFR that my wife and I can look at during the middle of March?

My wife and I are wanting to look in Florida for a rental property that we can move into in the future, if we decide to.  We like Florida, and are trying to find a place.
