@Michael Le Dang, where does hard work and dedication fit on the list?

All jokes aside, thanks for the advice and I hope to be providing all three in the next few years!

@Account Closed  My plan was more to bring attention to my company and then try and make social connections with people. However,  I did not plan to hide the fact that I am investing. I did not plan on specifically soliciting for investors.

@Account Closed Thank you for the information!

Just to make sure I am understanding correctly, if I had made contact with someone, regardless of how it was initiated, and then it formed into a business acquaintance for a decent period of time. Then that would be in compliance with the SEC?

@Michael Le I personally love the advice. However, one question I have for getting into bigger deals like that is, how do you find the money? With no real background in RE and trying to get your foot in the door. Even if you're a rockstar and you can handle it, how do you show the bank/private lender/investor that you can?

I am starting to try and gather a network of potential investors for deals I have in mind and for future deals to come. What I am primarily concerned about is how to stay within my legal bounds when making new connections and "asking for money". One of the primary ways I think I would like to make connections is through social media, of course, while also hitting the typical family and friends connections.

One of the major concerns I am having is, for example, I ran a Facebook advert simply bringing attention to my facebook page. Someone then, long story short, someone that came to us through that decided they wanted to invest with us. Would this cause any potential legal problems when trying to make the deal or take investments?

Any help or (not legal) advice would be greatly appreciated. Of course, I am not limiting my question to that one scenario, just that's the main one that came to mind right now.

@Kevin Wang I actually am starting a blog right now, haha. However, the concern I had with meeting people mostly online is the inability to express my commitment and desire to be great. It seems like it would be much easier face to face, especially for someone who is new to the game, so to speak.

@Kevin Wang I have been interested in being an agent for a long time (since I was little). I just never got around to it because I went military. However, I have considered it to be a way to get my name out there and make connections for when I get out. I just don't know how practical it is while I am in the service.

I love the enthusiasm. I myself have thought about starting a small blog about my process of starting out. To maybe inform others of some of the brick walls I myself have encountered in order to help them later avoid them. I love the idea and wish you the best of luck!

@Kevin Wang If you were trying to get into one of these jobs, would you be able to start out and still work your 9-5? At least starting out.
