I have family out in the Ohio area. There are a lot of good places to buy properties out in that area. I have had great success with rental properties.

I am not familiar with purchasing land over a long distance but maybe talk to a real estate agent in that area for advice.

I think you answered your own question. I think you are smart to not do anything with this property. Sometimes the best deals are the ones that you walk away from.

Most of the closings that I do go very smoothly but every once in a while ther is always some little catch. But I guess that is what makes real estate exciting.
