I'm a faithful listener of the BP real estate podcast. Can't get enough of it. Other than the super valuable advice and insights I gain from the show, I also learn about a ton of great books from the guests.  What books are you reading? What are your favorites?  I'm looking for more knowledge!

@Nikolay Izmerli I’d bet that every purchase and flip you do after this one will be profitable. You didn’t pull down a big haul of profit but the confidence and knowledge you’ve gained from this experience will pay you over and over again in the future.

Keep going!

@Steven Rubino

Great job!

Did you get your asking price or is that the negotiated sale price? And how long was the house on the market before it sold?

Hello All,

I've been on a rampage reading book after book on real estate and business. Now, I'm looking for a book or two that drills down on behavioral insights for successful outcomes in business in life. I've been reading The 4 Disciplines of Execution by Chris McChesney, Jim Huling and Sean Covey.  It's probably the best book I've ever read of its kind!

The authors identify the common human conditions (internally and externally) the prevent most people from reaching their goals AND anecdotally outlines a mindset and actionable strategies to break through those limitation to meet ANY goal. (By the way - check out podcast episode 328 with the co-author, Chris McChesney. It's my favorite episode of all time and they didn't even talk about real estate! You'll feel like there's nothing you can't accomplish after listening to the entire show.)

I'm looking for more books like this. I know if the BP community is anything, it's a village of avid readers.

Throw some recommendations may way BP!

There are so many ways to save for a downpayment to acquire your first property. Just wondering if any one has in creative ways stack up your funds the fastest way possible?

Suggestions, tips?

Hi Justin,

Been a long time since we've been in touch. My wife and I will be moving to Philadelphia this coming September. I'll definitely attend your meet ups once we settle into the city.

Have a great weekend!

Safe to say that we’re all here (On BP) for the same reason - to create a better financial future for ourselves and families. Success looks different for all of us but we all have an ideal level we’d like to reach before we can claim “I made it.”

I want to talk about another side effect if success which is philanthropy. I’ve read so many books and articles about business men and women who’ve reached and surpassed their pinnacle of their aspirations. Many of them said that said that perhaps the most fulfilling benefit of being successful was having the ability/resources to give back.

So I want to ask you all, successful and soon to be success men and women, how have you or how will you give back?

What will you do for others that will fill you with joy and even more of a sense of success?

Sky’s the limit! Go crazy!!

Can’t wait to see everyone’s comments!

I'm moving to Philadelphia this coming September and am curious as where to look for opportunities as well. True that Breweytown and Point Breeze have exploded.  Might be a matter of putting boots on the ground to find possible off market deals. I plan to explore every square mile of Philly once I move there.  Starting around  the fringes of the hot areas.
