Happy new year BP crew,

I hope everyone had a fun Christmas / Holiday and New Year celebration, thankful for 2021 and excited for 2022

Wanted to reach out to the community and get insight for those who had experience migrating from California to Austin Texas. I am considering the move and now in the due diligence process. Nothing set in stone, still in the early stages of research. I do have a few great co-workers in Texas and seems like Austin is a great destination for tech workers.

If you have any success stories or stories of caution, tips or things to consider, I'll appreciate it.

Have a great new year and more success, wealth and happiness to everyone!

@Mark S. I know this is an older thread and I hope you found your answer. I am following and listening to the financial samurai podcast, he lives in an expensive city and define FI as having enough passive income to finance your best life expenses which is like FAT FIRE and more. Interesting concept, I’m sure you will pick up some good knowledge. Good luck to all of us!

@David Song very timely post as I’ve been hearing this mass exodus from the news lately. As a subject matter expert in the Bay Area location, what is your opinion about where to buy a home in the Bay Area if you plan to raise a family here? My best friend with a young child is talking about buying a $1.4M house in San Ramon, CA indicating that the school district and continued appreciation will make it a good buy now. My friend makes good money and plans to do 20-30% down, which still makes me uncomfortable with his decision. I appreciate the input.

Hi Ola,
I appreciate the input, yes I've heard that as well from some TK providers that there is a small inventory.  Thanks

A lot of CA money is pouring into the midwest turnkey space right now; however, there are inventory issues with certain markets.

As a result, some investors have considered other asset classes. For instance, the self-storage and industrial spaces are doing quite well right now. Just a different perspective!

Hey Brandon, still narrowing down my search with my partner, we have Ohio and Texas as top in our list. Great input from folks here in BP on other states we will consider.

I’m in the same boat

It’s a lot of information to soak up!

Have you narrowed down the states you want to look into.
