This seems weird but I am from Harrisburg and am in San Diego for the week.  Meetup does not have anything scheduled In Hburg I think but you should double check me. You can also reach out to Zack Wiest (PaDeals.com) who coordinates at least one of the monthly meetings.

Whole life (cash value) life insurance is your money. You cannot borrow against the value of the death benefit- just the cash value. Loans are tax free of course unless you close the account.


I only know the process for New York Life. I login and open one of my policies and it gives me the max loan amount and interest of a loan (5%). The money transfers to my bank account upon the request. Note that my bank account is already connected for premium and loan payments. Whole life is long haul so worthwhile cash value is available after 10 years, not at the start. However, your whole life agent may have other policies that are different.
