@Nelson Fernandes Hello Nelson, thank you for the advice. I am definitely considering that as I continue to look for homes. I would love to hear about your experience in Real Estate thus far...I'm interested in flips as well as Rent and Holds. Currently I am looking to buy a MFH and owner occupy for a year and renting it all out. If i can though, I would love to do a flip first to provide income to further invest in other properties....Again, I would love to speak with you about the market and RE in Brockton if you dont mind. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Emiel

Thanks @Charlie MacPherson that was the property I was looking at. Great to have your opinion on that property; it is really helpful.

Thank you both @Bob Okenwa & @Andrew Johnson

One of the properties that I am looking at is a 2 family homes that costs 206K currently. It is in need for a full rehab but it has the potential to sell for upwards of 330K in the area.

I think the 206k price tag is high considering how much work it needs but thats based off assumption.  I have yet to have a contractor inspect it and give me an idea of how much it will cost to repair everything.

It is definitely a property I am interested in but I think if i could negotiate down I won't be as hesitant to take on such a larger project as my first investment.

Hello everyone, I've been looking at different properties and think how could I negotiate to a lower price. How does everyone go about negotiating on prices for homes? Do you base it off of comparable homes on the area? I'm still new to this so any advice would help honestly. Thanks E.B.

Hello everyone,

My name is Emiel and I am 23 years old and reside in the Greater Boston area. I recently graduated from Bentley University and work full time as an accountant. I want to invest in Real estate within a year or so but am unsure of where to start. I have been reading here and there on BP but still have a lot to learn. Does anyone have advice on where to start, any books they recommend or any courses that i should take?

Also, should I invest out of state as MA is pricey?
