Hello everyone, Hoping to close on my first deal this week *fingers crossed*. It is a 2 unit multi family in which I will live in one unit. The process has been full of complications but it looks like it will happen by Friday!! Thus, I was wondering what should be some of the first few things I do once I own the house? Anyone have a checklist of things that should be done? Thanks E.B.

So I am aware that you have to owner occupy for a year for the FHA loan, but I was wondering if there are any ways around that requirement? Is it possible to occupy for less time than that?

Thanks @James Wise I'll definitely give that a read and learn more about the market. Greatly appreciate everyone's input. 

I'm in MA and the prices here are high. Thus, I wanted to explore other option and other areas in the States that may require less money down on a property. I'll definitely do more research on the market and try to make connections before investing in anything outside of MA. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
