Thanks you for being very detailed and real in your journey. Very encouraging for those like myself, who are itching to do their first deal.

Great work Amy. Any tips for new investors following in your footsteps? As it can seem overwhelming at times.

@Keira Ingram That's the plan, I'm at the stage where I'm researching how property management fees are handled. Some companies want an upfront fee and a monthly fee, some companies want just a percerntage monthly fee.

@Melissa Gittens thank you. Mainly focusing on Albany/Schenectady, NY at the moment.

 Got it.

Thanks @Jaison Emmanuel Any plans to eventually include NYC into your portfolio?

@Brian Murphy Planning to be in Syracuse on 4-16-16. Thank you.

@Steve B. Thank you for the information sir. If you have any deals worth looking at, feel feel to PM me.

@John Hickey My thoughts exactly. I've come to realization that, as much as I love NYC, investing outside on NYC is necessary to start building my portfolio. I'm still doing my fair share of research for the NYC market, because this it is essentially the ultimate goal. That being said, I've decided to add a few trips (Upstate NY, PA) to my weekend calendar over the course of the next 4 weeks, to get a sense what these markets have to offer.

If you find any good deals or want to converse at any coffee shop in bedford-stuyvesant, I'm more than willing.

@Chaim F. Yes, I've done way too much research this weekend and BRRRR seems like the way to go.

Cheers,

Dan

@Greg B. will do. shooting you a PM now

@Chaim F. good point on the long distance rehab tip, however at this time, im not looking for any additional loans. i'm looking to make the $75k work as a starting point.

Got it. I'd say your best bet may be private lender that you can develop a relationship with.

@David Goings do you still own both properties? i'd assume you bought both properties cash?

Ok guys and gals here is the rundown, I own a multifamily home in Brooklyn NY with 1 unit rented out while i occupy the remaining space. I have about $75k cash to play with. I'm looking to get into my first rehab deal without having to borrow money. I'd love to invest in NYC, I'm in love with this place. However, given NYC's market, $75k makes this impossible until I'm able to build capital. My thinking is that i would need to look outside of NYC to start. Upstate NY, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts etc are all options options to me. I'd like to get any input on re-habbers/flipper that live in NYC(or any area) and has their investments in an other. I imagine at times it can get challenging, but I'd like to start in baby steps and slowly build a progressive portfolio.

I've been researching this lifestyle for some time now and i feel as though it is time to include myself into the action and secure my own retirement plan. Any input on areas and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan
