@Gina H. to answer your question it all depends on how much effort you want to put in, and what your long term goal is with the investment.

As @Sean Sloop stated GR is hot due to the overall economic diversity and growth happening. That doesn’t mean there isn’t deals to be had. You might have to put more effort in to find the good deals. Areas of value are also Kalamazoo, Lansing, Battle Creek. 

I have heard there is great potential in the Detroit suburban areas, but this is not my expertise so you would have to find someone from the area to provide additional insight on this.

These are the place I love for the vin taken from John’s link because it was easy to copy and paste.

Data plates are usually located:
  • On an inside wall of the master bedroom closet, or
  • On the inside of a cabinet in the kitchen, or
  • On a wall around the HVAC system closet.

@Glenn Grahl not only is Flint and Saginaw good Michigan markets but also Lansing, Battle Creek, and Jackson. The market is hot just about any where you go, but there is still plenty of opportunity here.

@Charyl J. finding a good independent insurance agent in the Kalamazoo area will be your first step. A good independent agent will have several carriers that one should have a product for your. An agency like Nulty Insurance could provide you a product, or know a broker who could. Being a special type of risk requires talking to a few agents to get the right product.
