Newbie here from San Antonio. Looking to get into local investing soon, currently preparing to start the process on getting my license. Just a goal I've had. Nice to meet everyone!

@Aaron Bihl

Super cool idea. What part of town do you have your AirBnb's?

Hi everyone, My family and I are looking to purchase our first home in San Antonio and have seen a couple of nice properties in the Castle hills area. I don't know much about that part of town and would like some more information if possible from others (taxes, location, if it'll be marketable as a rented property, Etc) If we do purchase a home out there Id like to use a buy and hold strategy to rent it out as we intend to move in 3-4 year increments to build our portfolio. I just don't want to be "stuck" with a home in a location that may not attract renters down the road at a later point in time. Thanks in advance for the help BP

Hi everyone, This pertains to my San Antonio investors. I am a perspective home owner and would like some helpful feedback. I'm 26 and my wife and I are looking to purchase our first home and have been huge fans of downtown the last two years (the pearl, blue star and etc). We see all these houses that look fairly nice and well kept in the East Side. I don't watch the news much due to its general negativity but I'm always hearing about the violence in the Eastside. So my question is, is it really THAT bad in that part of SA? I don't know much about that side of town since we live near sea world but I just wanted to know more possibly which places to avoid if we were looking downtown. Thank you for the help

@Rod Desinord, as a TV personality he was okay and even quite hilarious unknowingly. But living in San Antonio as he does, I've noticed that he has been characterized as abrasive and arrogant perhaps due to his success. I wish him well nonetheless but it's just my observation. Lately his guru workshops are under lots of scrutiny for the high admission costs and the lack of a "real" education and ROI for attending such classes. Very similar to that of Than Merrill and his team who appear to be great guys but may have other financial motives.
