@Sandy Pathak I’d be happy to connect! I got started investing in Stamford (still live here) and own a handful of properties in Bridgeport and Norwalk.

Bridgeport can be a great investment, I currently own a handful there and have helped clients find investments. The returns are solid, you need to know which areas will attract better tenants and make sure to screen your tenants throughly. Happy to connect and go into it further.

Welcome Eric! I got my start about a decade ago by investing and have built a business on the agency side of things. Happy to chat about anything and everything real estate related!

Happy to send you over an example of what agents use. Thanks @Kevin Kohler for the tag!

You can do it, just expect some hiccups along the way. From day one I would suggest getting your attorney involved to have them draft the purchase agreement/contract. Usually you’ll make more money going to market with an agent than you would save on the commission.

A lot of good advice above. Right now with the rush of buyers to multi family and single family properties I've been seeing some good opportunities with townhomes. You have to be cautious about HOA's, however I do see the cost off setting the other maintenance I would need to pay for (snow, garbage, water, sewer, sometimes heat and hot water). I've picked up two personally since covid and they have been performing very well. Happy to chat about investing and helping you find a property!

Hi Victoria,

Your taxes will go up if you add any additional living space, bedrooms, bathrooms, decks etc. Any improvements will raise your assessed value. The assessed value is what determines your taxes.

Hi Samer,
I tend to work with clients needing attorneys further south but can send you some recommendations.
Typically you get what you pay for, attorneys are no different. I have a client using a budget one and they have been useless.
Send me a DM if you’d like them!

Yeah I hear you on that. I was like that until I connected with people trust. Happy to help connect you with agents. I have a pretty big network throughout the Northeast and country.

Hi Ashley!

There are a lot of recourses you can use to look into the areas outside of where you are. First, I would start with calling the local police station. They should be able to help answer any questions about crime in the area.

There are also some websites to give you an idea of crime rates.

The best way is to find a local agent that can trust. I live/work in CT and just invested in Indianapolis with an agent I know and trust.

30 Minutes away is a quick drive, go drive around the area. Take a look at the cars parked on the street, is there trash all over the ground? Quiet during the day or loud at night?
