Thank you all for your replies and advice. I have decided to get my RE license and should have it before the end of this month. The test has already been scheduled. I have information overload from all the reading I have been doing on this forum (as well as others) and from the RE agent class I am taking to get licensed.

I have also partnered with a cash buyer who is looking for deals with lots of equity. He layed out his criteria and now I have to find them. Since he is a cash buyer and I will be licensed soon I will be pursuing REO's.

I think the biggest thing I have to work on is my networking skills. This will be instrumental in locating these deals.

Thanks again and I look forward to more discussions on this forum.

I have lots of mold in my attic because the attic wasn't ventilated correctly. I have corrected the ventilation problem (got a new roof) and was wondering the best way to remove the mold. Should I do it myself, if so what is the best way to remove mold? I need it to be done right because my 3 year old has asthma so I need to make sure the mold is gone and will not spread. I appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum. I live in NY and currently work for a financial company that is closing in the fall. I have been asked by the parent company to stay until the end to assist with the wind down operations. This means I have a job until the fall and with severance I basically have a paycheck for all of 2010.

I have invested in RE or should I say dabbled in RE investing for quite some time but have never given the business the attention it deserves. I now want to change careers and work in RE full time. I have all of 2010 to get my business off the ground. I am looking to network with some of the experienced RE investors? Hopefully I will be able to get some answers to the questions below. What steps should I take to starting a successful RE business, keeping in mind I have 1 year to make it work? Should I get my RE license? What strategies should I focus on?

This seems to be a great forum and I look forward to learning here.
