Post: Real Estate Agency/Realtor Needed for SPI property

I am looking for a real estate agency/realtor for my property in South Padre Island. Who can give me the best recommendations for a team/realtor that can get me an effective marketing strategy, a thorough comparative market analysis, someone that is active on their professional social media accounts, a team that has an in-house professional photographer/videographer and marketing team, provide a communication plan, respect the space and time of booked renters? Ideally I would like to start off with a 90-day contract. A six-month contract is too long of a commitment for me to be stuck with someone or a team with whom I do not align. Feel free to DM me. You do not have to respond to this post. In the DM, include the professional social media handle of who you are recommending and let me know if you/they provide all of the above. @EudithVacio is my ultimate model realtor that sold my multifamily home in Chicago. I WISH that she was licensed in Texas but alas, she is not. I highly recommend her if you are in Chicago or Indiana. Thank you.

@Polo Vazquez do you have a calendar planned out for the rest of the year for these meetups? Where can it be found? Thanks.

Hello Deisy,

Would you consider selling your SPI rental for sale by owner?

@Olivia Leija not at the moment. I love my place.

Can someone please provide some insight. Airbnb already charges an Occupancy Tax. That is why I didn't think to get the city involved and I already pay taxes for that income come tax time. Today I received a letter saying that I have to go to www.myspi.org/hottax to register my property and remit payment. The letter states In the unincorporated areas of South Padre Island all lodging businesses and private home vacation rentals must collect and remit Hotel Occupancy Tax. I am obviously going to go to the city and ask but wanted to know if anyone had any insight on this on here so I can be prepared. Thanks in advance.

@Mike Lambert I appreciate your insight. Some things don't happen for a reason and I am happy that it turned out the way it did. Onward.

@Reden Dionisio I have a rental in South Padre Island but be ready for taxes to increase every year. This year, the county wants to increase everyone in the area by 121% that's insane. A lot of us have appealed it. I had to take mine out of the market because it wasn't selling. Good luck finding a place. SPI is a vacationers place to relax and have fun. It's great for everyone and there's a lot of demand still for vacationers.

@Benjamin Canyon Hi Benja, I didn't end up closing. Unfortunate amount of events. I'm still hopeful but everything happens for a reason so even though I was devastated for a bit, another door opened and now I'm seeing other options. Yes, I knew that I wouldn't have to pay for a trust. The area next to the ruins in Tulum is the best. We'll see. Mike Lambert has started selling properties in his development down by the area so going to see what that's all about.

@Sebastian Papworth Thanks so much for replying to me about this. It would be great to be able to speak to someone that can talk to the developer. I'm sure I would be able to get my condo the way I want and agreed to but i'm concerned about the rest of the swimming pools (rooftop). Sending you a DM. Thanks.
