Mary J. Hewitt is a Senior Escrow Officer with over 32 years of experience in the Title Insurance industry, Mary has established not only long term business relationships, but life long friends. Her experience ranges from residential to commercial, land and homes, wholesale transactions to flips. With her wide range of experience from, searching and examination to closing, her experience in the field lends itself to very smooth transactions. Mary’s number one priority is to make her customers feel like they “are the only one”.

Patty Camacho is an Escrow Assistant with First American Title, where she has been with the company for three years. Her previous Escrow experience comes from Title Guaranty of Hawaii, in Hilo, Hawaii, where she spent three years with the company before moving to New Mexico. Patty came to First American Title with extensive knowledge in the Banking industry where she has over 24 years of experience, to include all aspect of Lending (i.e. Consumer, Residential, and Commercial). She is Phi Theta Kappa graduate of Central New Mexico Community College where she holds an Associate’s degree in Accounting. She hopes to someday establish her own “book of business” and eventually work her way up to becoming an Escrow Officer.

Mary “LoGuercio” Dodrill has been in the title industry for 45 years, specializing in commercial, residential, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, marketing, training and business development. Mary is “Grandfathered” within the State of New Mexico Dept. of Ins. And New Mexico Land Title Association. My present position is Escrow and business development. My passion for clients, my co-workers and myself is motivation by virtue of knowledge to achieve their goals.

Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Mason serves as New Mexico Underwriting Counsel and has earned a solid reputation for providing underwriting guidance and assistance in a timely and efficient manner, regardless of the complexity of the transaction. Since joining First American Title in May of 2015, Beth has assisted agents in underwriting small residential transactions, large complex commercial sites and multi-county, multi-state energy projects. Her prior experience includes serving as managing attorney and associate attorney for law firms in New Mexico where she concentrated her practice on residential mortgage foreclosures, and real estate and business law. Beth is currently a member of the New Mexico Land Title Association (NMLTA) Rates, Rules and Forms Committee and the Legislative Committee. She has participated extensively as a lecturer on title insurance and real estate topics, provides education throughout the state to agents and their clients, and was a presenter at the 2017 NMLTA Title School – Our Changing Industry.

Ty Robeck is Business Development Manager that has been with First American Title for 35 years. For the first decade, Ty worked in the Title Department. In about 1994, he transitioned to Business Development, and also managed an Escrow Branch for a few years. His passion for the business is fueled by helping others achieve their goals. Ty attended Sandia High School in Albuquerque, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the College of Santa Fe.

I would recommend Guy Gemmer (http://www.ps.properties/agent/guy-gemmer-jr/) or Mike Schlichte (http://www.my505home.com/agent/michael-schlichte/).

Both own multiple units and both also have started property management businesses.  Make sure to interview lots of Realtors, not all are created equal!

Miriam Maldonado is a Real Estate Investor and Entrepreneur. She is the owner of Bricks and Minifigs, a franchise, buy, sell, trade Lego store that also offers Lego events, camps, and birthday parties. She spent most of her career working for Sandia National Laboratories started as a Secretary and left her job in 2016 as an IT Project Manager. Miriam and her husband have flipped 11 houses and own 13 rentals. Miriam has a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from UNM’s School of Anderson.

The Maldonado’s are starting off strong in 2018 and have four deals, two under rehab and two scheduled to close this month that they are purchasing.

This rarely happens.  If it does, make sure you have something in your agreement about who gets excess proceeds.  Redemption rights are a tricky business, make sure to have e your ducks in a row.

@burt gurley, your best bet is a cash out refi. I just completed 2. They can get a little sticky (especially if you own them in an LLC). Reach out to Kim Kissane at Premiere Choice Mortgage. She has a lot of experience with these.
