Foreclosure being redeemed! Liable for rehab?
So long story short, a friend bought a foreclosure on the front steps of the court house on Dec. 18th. Waited for special masters deed in the mail which came in on March 9th I believe. Then began the demo and rehab. So now he gets a notice saying someone has filed a motion to redeem the house.
I understand if it’s redeemed he gets his initial purchase cost plus a little interest.
My question is, could he be liable for finishing out any of the rehab? For example he knocked out a wall and the old broken kitchen cabinets. Has anyone ever been made to repair any demo done in the process of rehabbing??
