@NateWilson For some education check out the Education drop-down above and go to Guides and check out the Ultimate Beginners Guide and then go to the Free Course tab under Education too. That will get you moving in the right direction.

@Mike Henkel Love it! Keep up the stories. It's encouraging.

Hope to see you at the local INREIA meetup. There is a wealth of information here on BP and at your local investment group.

@Ryan Hakes Welcome aboard.

Might I encourage you to look The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing.  https://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investin...

I know there are investors at MyINREIA meetings who are looking to team up with wholesalers and rehabbers.  We are meeting on Jan 12 Tuesday at 6:30 downtown.

Also, here is a thread you may want to follow as it will be a good visual step-by-step lesson. https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/48/topics/259...

I wish you well.

@Jay Hinrichs

This is an incredible endeavor. You are truly an inspiration to me as you are demonstrating brotherly love by giving back to the BP community. This is also a great opportunity for Indianapolis and I thank you for that.

My wife volunteers with a non-profit organization that helps international refugees and immigrants learn English and assimilate into American culture. One of our goals in moving to this city a few months ago form Springfield, MO is to use my real estate career to help provide housing for veterans, international students and returning missionaries who may have trouble finding housing or getting financing for housing as many are returning with little income and/or little credit history as they have been out of the country and often can't show a stable income. This happened to my wife and I when we returned from serving overseas in Kazakhstan for two years doing volunteer work. We could not show a stable income for the past two years and had trouble acquiring a vehicle and a house.

 I myself am interested in this opportunity and would like to be considered. I do live in Indianapolis and I am a new investor currently working on my mailing list to send out my first Yellow Letter campaign. I have not yet acquired my first property but hope to obtain it from this campaign.

I will be able to chronicle and post photos showing the progress of the rehab.

I am very happy to hear that a portion of the proceeds are going to a charitable organization.

With that being said, if I may be able to vote, I would vote that this project go to @David Lecko. He is a young, enthusiastic, communicative brand new investor who I believe would do you proud in this undertaking.

Respectfully,

David Gunn

Welcome aboard@David Lecko I'm happy to hear you are on BP.

May I suggest you take a look at The Ultimate Beginners Guide https://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investin...

From there I would check out the Free Course under the Education drop down and then the How To guides.

Plug in to the podcast as well.

I wish you well and look forward to visiting with you again.

          @Calvin Jones

          Glad you're here on BP. I like your enthusiasm and determination. We just have to make sure you are pointed in the right direction.

          I agree with others and I would encourage you NOT to leverage your car. Real Estate is a great way to make piles of cash fast but when you are just getting started without cash and little to no experience or education your investing tends to take off the starting line more like a tortoise.  So don't risk your car. There are plenty of ways to begin with little to no money.

          Two areas you need to focus on are Education and Networking. Real Estate is a people business and you have to know what you're doing.

          I have a few recommendations that will assist you in new career.

          1. EDUCATION-

          Check out the Education drop down above and go through the Free Course.

          https://www.biggerpockets.com/courses/a-beginners-...

          -Then go to Guides and How to Start Wholesaling

          https://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2015/01/3...

          -Then go to Blog Topics and start reading through there.

          -Also listen to Biggerpockets podcast as well as Epic Real Estate Investing podcasts and that will get you moving in the right direction.

          2.   NETWORKING-

          Check out Lifestyles Unlimited near you. They are an investing and mentor group and that focuses on Buy and Hold but you can still go to their free workshop and meet investors who have cash to invest and there are tables set up with brochures for hard money lenders and other vendors that you are looking for and can assist you in building your team.

          Check out Meetup for real estate and wholesalers meetings you can network with. Find someone who will pay you to "bird dog" and begin to learn from.

        I hope this helps.

        I wish you well,

        David
