I agree with Jason. Need to look West. South has some flood plain issues that I'd avoid.

I bought my first SFR and closed at the end of August. 6 weeks of rehab. Then rented it in 5 days at a premium price in the neighborhood. Yesterday, we signed the lease.

I also closed on our second house yesterday.

Very exciting day for us!

I'm just getting started in real estate investment with a goal to supplement retirement income. I'm in my mid-50s and wanting to get in rentals wisely. Would love any advice from those like me who are older and just getting started.
