Hello Morgan,

Welcome to BP!!

Paul

I was at a demostration this week of Google Cardboard and Google Expeditions (

(https://www.google.com/edu/expeditions/ ) which provide a way to enable schools to go on virtual field trips. The system involves using a simpe viewer (Google Cardboard) which costs anywhere from $12 to $30 along with an app you download on your cellphone. You can then see 3D still images and video.

When I saw this I thought it could be useful for REIs. Some of this technology is still in early phases but I could see how this could allow an out of state or out of country investor do a property walkthrough. It could also allow people who could not attend a property staging to do a walkthrough. Presumably 3D images could help you do better ballpark conditions estimates of repairs from your desk....

Google is also developing a commercial version called Google Jump

Just wondering if anyone here has been using 3D and virtual realityor knowl of anyone using them in their REI processess? Perhaps initially may only make sense for higher-priced markets like Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix etc. but as the tech improves and prices fall, I think it could open up new avenues.

Hello BP'ers,

Was just doing a bit of research and came across this post! Seems like an interesting niche.

I know many people - including myself - use places like Starbucks to work study. How does one compete against free space and the Starbucks hipness!

Planning a couple visits over the coming days to a couple of similar places in Paris, will share my findings in a future posting.

Hello Nancy,

Thank you for your message and inquiry!

I am now working with Beka Management who was recommended by  @Joe Villeneuve I have found Joshua Lawrence and his team to be responsive and proactive.

So do give them a call!

Kudos to you Joe!

Best regards,

Paul

@Joe Villeneuve

Thank you for your reply! Very much appreciate you taking time out to answer. I will follow up on your leads.

Best regards,

Paul

I am an out of State REI with a property in the Detroit Metro, MI (Redford Township). The company handles the property management for my SFR rental is getting out of this line of business to concentrate on buying and reselling properties.

Would appreciate recommendations for alternative property management companies.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

I am an out of state owner and my current  property manager has just notified me that they will stop providing property management services to their clients with effect from 5 January 2015, so they can concentrate on their core business of buying and selling properties.

They are now channeling their clients to another company "Carnell Crosby Real Property Management" which operates in the Detroit metropolitan area of Michigan. Does anyone have experience working with them?

Thank you for your replies.
