Using 3D and VR for walkthroughs & assessing property conditions?

I was at a demostration this week of Google Cardboard and Google Expeditions (

(https://www.google.com/edu/expeditions/ ) which provide a way to enable schools to go on virtual field trips. The system involves using a simpe viewer (Google Cardboard) which costs anywhere from $12 to $30 along with an app you download on your cellphone. You can then see 3D still images and video.

When I saw this I thought it could be useful for REIs. Some of this technology is still in early phases but I could see how this could allow an out of state or out of country investor do a property walkthrough. It could also allow people who could not attend a property staging to do a walkthrough. Presumably 3D images could help you do better ballpark conditions estimates of repairs from your desk....

Google is also developing a commercial version called Google Jump

Just wondering if anyone here has been using 3D and virtual realityor knowl of anyone using them in their REI processess? Perhaps initially may only make sense for higher-priced markets like Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix etc. but as the tech improves and prices fall, I think it could open up new avenues.
