Wow John! You are doing great stuff over there. I work at 2 Renwick street, and I know the area can be rough. What got are doing is inspiring me to get into gear.

One piece of advice that I can give is to read and learn what you can about a subject before asking questions, and when you do ask questions, make them specific. This way you will receive more useful and quick responses.

I too live in NY. Warwick in orange county.  I have been researching the Middletown, NY market.  Close proximity to the city and SF homes in the $90k- $150k range are always available.

I agree with Mike. If the bank approves you, I've heard that it makes no difference to them what you spend it on. And the rate isn't much of an issue for the short term, if you can get a traditional mortgage relatively soon.
