Hi Joshua,

Congrats on taking the first steps to help secure your future. I am a local investor here in Pearland. My focus has been buy and hold and it's a great long term strategy. As Jim pointed out complete your degree and find a way to increase your income so that you will have extra to invest. 

As you continue your education, I would recommend podcasts by folks like Jason Hartman, Grant Cardone, and Gary Vaynerchuk. They are not only educational but also motivational.

I live on the east side of Pearland but I have heard a lot of backlash from those who live near the landfill.  The biggest issue is trying to find sensible inventory. Prices have gone up significantly from when I bought 4 years ago
