@Gregory Boulet, I am a real estate agent here in SW Washington and Oregon. I also have once investment property in Portland and an AirBnB in Arizona. I'd love to connect once you get down here and if you need an agent I could always help on that end too.

Hey Ian!

I live and work in Clark County. I currently have a STR in Arizona, but am a real estate broker in Washington and Oregon.

Nice to meet you!

Hey Tim!

I was referred to Toija at the Butler Exchange Group regarding 1031's and she was super helpful and knowledgeable. Her info is below!

Post: Best Phoenix Short Term Rental Management Company

Hello!

I am currently under contract to purchase a home in the Glendale, AZ area. The plan is to use it as a short term rental as it is less than a mile from State Farm Stadium and the Westgate Entertainment District.

The home needs some updating to get ready for renters and we have a rental management company that we've been in contact with that will manage the renovations as well as furnishing the home.

But naturally I am interested in getting some other opinions from rental management companies as I do not live in the area.

If anyone has recommendations for short term management companies it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Colton

Hey @Jessica Parker

I am also in SW Washington (Ridgefield) and looking to get some more deals done within the next year. Currently have two lined up in Spokane and Portland. But, haven't really looked into flips and would more than willing to talk more about it!

Hey @Daniela Yapuncich

There is actually a local realtor @Chace Fraser that is super knowledgeable in this field and is doing exactly what your describing (house hacking). I am more than confident he would be able to answer any questions that you might have.

But as Anthony stated you will also need to speak with a lender to know what price range you should be looking at and what the best loan option for you and your husband is.

Good luck with everything!

Welcome, Adam! I am from Portland and recently starting out myself, I have everything lined up to pull the trigger just looking for a deal now.

As soon as I decided to get active on the forums and start following bigger pockets it really jump-started my journey. The people that I have met and connected with have been very valuable in my education and make this concept of REI not so scary.

Since you are starting to become more of a reader I would recommend picking up Josh and Brandon's new book "How To Invest In Real Estate". It's a great read and has a lot of information packed in there.

That is great information, thank you Chace! I have spoke with two mortgage brokers so far and they do not deal with REI and that has been somewhat challenging.

I have listened to numerous podcasts, read some books (including Josh and Brandon's newest one) and the main theme after doing some research is to obviously get on BP and start networking. Needless to say I would be more than willing to meet up and shoot the breeze!

I have been looking on the internet for deals and am not exactly sure which area I want to focus on just yet. Chace, are you licensed in Washington too?

Hey Sam! I am also new to real estate investing and BP and am trying to network with people in the Portland area, so I just wanted to reach out.

As for your questions, I have not house hacked myself (yet). But, I do own a home and have been through the whole process. The first thing I would do is go talk to a lender about your options (since its free to do!). Obviously there are various types of loans you can get, especially being a first time home buyer and making this your primary residence... So, that would be my first step!
