We want to buy a duplex and need advice

Posted

Hi everyone my husband (26) and I (24) want to buy a duplex we live in Portland. We are saving as much as we can, we are making around 65k a year after taxes. We have no kids and our monthly expenses are about 2k a month we have 2 car payments. We want to buy a duplex so we can live in one side and rent the other one. Our credit scores are around 720.

Does anyone know how can we find a cheap duplex in Portland OR?

we would love to hear some advice we are thinking about applying for a FHA loan. We have no idea on how to start in real state.

Thanks.

Hey @Daniela Yapuncich

There is actually a local realtor @Chace Fraser that is super knowledgeable in this field and is doing exactly what your describing (house hacking). I am more than confident he would be able to answer any questions that you might have.

But as Anthony stated you will also need to speak with a lender to know what price range you should be looking at and what the best loan option for you and your husband is.

Good luck with everything!
