Post: Investing in the Amarillo Market

Is there anyone that is investing in the Amarillo market? I'm really thinking about investing in that market due to limited funds and the prices of houses being cheaper in that area of Texas. I'm just wondering if their is anyone that is successfully investing in Amarillo right now and has a good idea of rent, what areas to be in, and what the average vacancy is. I'm also a little skeptical about appreciation and the market outlook since covid.

Hello BP,

Im looking for a market to do a bit of research on, to try and start doing the brrrr method. Anyone have any suggestions? Also what brrrr markets do you think have been the least effected by covid?

Thanks

@Daniel Mendez I would recommend looking into more of the Dallas Mid Cities area(Irving, Euless, Bedford, Hurst, Arlington, and Grand Prairie), these properties are slowly appreciating but are still cheap enough to where if you get a good deal you will easily hit the 1% rule on rent.

Hey BP,

I'm looking for a real estate agent in the Fort Worth area that works with HUD and REO properties specifically. If anyone has recommendations that would greatly appreciated.

Thanks BP community

Hey BP, does anyone on here have any recommendations for an attorney that works mostly with real estate investors and a good title company in the Fort Worth TX area?

Hey Jaron, first off welcome to BP, your story seems awfully similar to mine and I can seriously respect you for the mindset change you have made. I actually work in the financial services industry and was told the same thing that retiring early is just not feasible, which is something I will prove them wrong on as well. I am also relatively new to real estate investing and I am in the research/networking stage of figuring it all out.

Now when it comes to an LLC I dont think there is anything wrong with that on your first property I know there are some caveats with having an LLC and getting conventional loans that you would want to probably research before making your decision.

Also I would love to connect, there is a couple of meet ups next week in the Grapevine area that if you are interested I am more than happy to send you the information.

@Brian Simpson thanks for the informational response and amazing advice, I have been really thinking about just investing in Oklahoma City market because it does seem more favorable for the BRRRR method.

Hey @andrewpostell, thanks for the amazing response and I actually am going to a couple meet ups in the near future but will definitely be checking out some of the other groups you mentioned. And I'm looking forward to connecting with a local expert.

Hello BP,

My name is Cody and I'm a new real estate investor located in the Fort Worth area that already has a partner to help with the contractor/construction part of a rehab, we are looking to buy our first property and either flip it or BRRRR it. I'm in the midst of trying to find a couple good realtors and property managers, and I was looking for any suggestions in the Fort Worth Area?

I also am thinking about doing out of state investing in Oklahoma City after getting a couple properties and would love to get anyone's thoughts on the market and if Oklahoma City is a good market to do the BRRRR method in.
