How do we go about on doing that? What company offers the service of installing this?

Thanks everybody! I see some really good advice here. One issue we're wondering about is that there are two homes on one lot and we are told by the city that there would be only one water/trash/sewer bill for both properties. If there are two different tenants it would be quite difficult to figure out who's using what.. Any suggestions on this one?

A water sub meter will cost you about $35, and meter water to one of the properties to know exactly how much they have used. If these are legal separate dwellings, with their own addresses. then the city should also be able to install two distinct water meters with two separate accounts.

You can try to guess who used how much, but you will never be correct, and one of the tenants will always complain.

The two properties are on one lot and it's showing as one address for both. The post office says that they are listed as unit 1 and unit 2, and have two separate meters for electricity, but only one water meter.. We'll see about getting a sub meter. That sounds like a good option. We wouldn't want any confusion.

Hi all! We are looking into trying to get a rental property, but have a question on how to include utilities in the rent. In North Las Vegas, where we are located, the tenants are able to get trash, water and sewage under their name, but if they do not pay a lien will be placed on the property. We want to know the best way to go about this, so we can stay protected. We want to manage the property ourselves.. And can anybody provide where to get a rental agreement and other forms needed? Thank you!
