I'm a big learn and plan first guy, so it's really all about getting all of that down before I actually start approaching CPA's, lenders, lawyers, realtors, etc.

You are early in the process so keep going.

Set goals to do so much reading a day. Try to listen to at least one podcast a day. Try to go to one networking event a week.

I wouldn't worry about a CPA yet. Get yourself 3 people first. A lawyer, a contractor, and an agent.

Go out there and look at so many properties a week.

Sounds good--Before I do that, I still need to determine my plan---including choosing whether I'm going to go with straight real estate investing, wholesaling, houseflipping, and/or BRRRR. I really need to study the pros and cons of these and how they fit into my goal(s). Any advice on that?

If you want to get in touch with him, just send me a direct message and I'll send you his profile info on Facebook. He's young (18) but he's already done 3 wholesale deals and has an LLC.

 Well what type of marketing are you referring to? How much money is "some real money"?  Sounds like a little bit more than what I have---again, marketing is ok but I'm not far enough into understanding the process yet to even know when/what/how/where to market yet

I asked a relative of mine from Detroit the same question. He just shows up and looks for REIA meetups as much as possible to build a network of showing his face and spreading his name

I'd just love to find a mentor/someone highly experienced that's open and willing to give me a chance on go 50/50 on a house flip just so that I can get my feet wet on some of the processes in action.

@Ron Rohrssen

I'm in Ankeny, IA and I'm starting from ground zero. I'd like to sit down and talk to other investors in the central Iowa area. Do you have any advice on this?
