The house hacker community is awesome, everyone is more than willing to help each other achieve the same common goal. Come chat with people who have several house hacks under their belt and learn tips and tricks.
If you have properties come meet others who are doing the same and talk about how to improve and be more efficient.

Great question, what I’ve found works best is to have the utilities a flat fee that you can charge extra on top of rent or you charge an amount that would include helping to pay for the utilities.

For example if you plan on renting the other unit in your home for $1800 and utilities/internet/water for the entire house on avg are $300

You can advertise the rent as $1800 plus $150 for utilities or say $1950 all utilities included.

It’s a flat fee so your not trying to divide up those expenses.
