Bryan I was at that MREI meeting and that space definitely still exists.  Places like Coalition on Temporary Shelter and Southwest Solutions have Permanent Supportive Housing Programs.  Contact them and speak to their program Directors.

I've been investing in the Detroit market for years and the returns are very attractive.  

Use the $50k to leverage an income producing property.  If seller financing is available then that's a plus!
