Hello fellow investors! My father and I are visiting my brother in the Salt Lake/Park City area. We will be in town April 12-April 17th. Are there and real estate meet ups going on during that time that we could attend ? We would love to connect with local investors as well. If you are free to meet up send me a message. My father and I are buy and hold investors in Nashville. We are wanting to purchase a property in Salt Lake (or surrounding areas Ogden etc) for my brother to manage. Thanks you!

Where are you purchasing at 70% of the ARV?

Are you only doing flips? Care to share with the rest of us where you are finding these deals? If it is a wholesaler sign me up!

I lived in Memphis in 2007 to 2008 in the Midtown area. I loved Memphis and really feel it gets a bad rap. I am sure there are bad parts, but I wouldn't completely dismiss it. I am making a trip down there in May to scope it out for myself.

Sure. I will give you a general overview of Nashville. It is crazy expensive and cash flowing deals are difficult to find. Most people are looking outside of the city (including myself).

There are a few meet up groups locally. Check out REIN and meet up.com.  Also remember to offer a service since you are new. While I don't mind helping out here and there, you are going to make the most meaningful relationships by providing value to an experienced investor.  Can you help with tax strategies?  Help locate deals etc. Maybe something with your negotiation skills?

I lived in Knoxville for 3 years for Grad school.  I did not like it. I will say the cost of entry into real estate is much lower than Nashville.  I found the city to be to to small for my liking and general opinions of residents to mirror the stereotype of the South. I recommend visiting and getting a feel for the city.  I am originally from Murfreesboro (a town outside of Nashville).

Honest and knowledgeable contractors are in high demand here. I would check out REIN. I have never been myself because of my schedule, but I see the topics of meeting and I think it would be a good place to start out. I am open to meeting up as well.
