Followed this conversation- lots of good info. In markets with extremely cheap land like here in the Midwest I think it is super possible, and smart to do long term!

Building just a duplex seems a waste to go through such a process. Might as well build a 10-15 unit? Same amount of time and leg work.

Depends- I an full-time real estate but have a property management company that takes up 75% of my work week. Having a wife that is a nurse is def a plus. I would talk with a local bank first to discuss it.

Hi Chris- I have changed my strategy from new construction to existing BRRRR strategy.

New Construction takes too much time and headache to build 1 at a time etc.

@Eric James yes- just buying cash to close the deal, and then refi once rented out. If the deal is good enough and doesn't require any work, why not right?

Great point Ian- we def don’t want that. Maybe might want to find a market that is suitable for your budget etc.
