Thanks for linking some guides. That last article is going to help a lot. Its good to know when you've learned enough to go out and do it without getting into to much trouble. Also, the podcast actually brought me here :)

One of the big things that was bothering me about real estate investing is the negotiating side. Im 22 years old, and being short makes me look even younger. What worries me is, would people give me the same respect as someone who is older? Will the people take it less seriously because I'm ' Just a kid'? I cant blame them 100% Id be a little skeptical too if someone as young as me was trying to negotiate buying a house for investing purposes.

@Steve Smithy

Where about in PA? Also, yeah sounds like you could use better managers. If those properties are really making you good money, it is probably best you fix the problem at the source.

Thanks for all the great tips everyone. A lot of you mentioned the REIA meetings. Do any of you know any of them around the area? If not, where would be a good place to search for them?

Thank you for the welcome and the links. I have read the guide and set up my keywords. Now time to meet people from the area. :)

Hey @TImothy Talarico,

I live right on the edge of Berks and I'm starting to get into real estate investing. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about real estate right now. From what I've researched so far it seems that wholesaling is more my thing. Fleetwood is a bit far away as I'm near Bethlehem. Still nice to know that people are in this area to network with.

Edit: Sorry I live on the border of Bucks not Berks.

Hello, I'm Glen. Im from eastern Pennsylvania and would like to learn to wholesale. It seems fun to me to negotiate and make the deals. Currently I am a machinist and I like the job but, I feel that I could do so much more. That I was missing so much from working long hours. My long term goals are to eventually make enough cash flow or constant wholesales to be able to quite , retire sounds a little better, my job and work for myself. Worst case scenario I want a little more in my 401k or bank account for later.

A coworker of mine told me about investing in real estate. It didn't seem like the thing for me. He would tell us stories about how these tenants wouldn't pay, or how they would destroy the place. He used to be a contractor so he knows how to fix stuff for cheap. I kept what he told me in the back of my head and moved on.

After awhile some of my friends wanted to get into it to. I thought well with more people we would have more ideas, money, and varying talent. So I started researching. I found out that you don't need to just buy and rent to make money in real estate. That's how I got to this site.
