Hey Alexander. Yes we did. We ended up going back to Proper. They had rejected us the first go around, but we had no problem with them the second time. Didn’t get a great answer as to why it didn’t work in round 1. The rep who helped us the second time said it should have gone through. Definitely an argument against stopping just because one person says ‘no’.

 Hey Manuel.  I invest in both Santa Barbara and Ventura. I host a meetup in Santa Barbara going on 3 years that many Ventura folks attend (mysef included as I live in VTA currently) and I attend many of the other meetups (three in Ventura, alone). I am also close with a few of the people on this thread. So, you are definitely not the only one.  It is hard to break into the network when you are new because experienced investors are weary.  New people come around all the time with big ambitions and then disappear after a few months.  If you are committed, I recommend starting to ask pointed and well researched questions and to start attending as many meetups as you can.  If you are interested in the SB meetup, shoot me a DM. @Allen Maris thanks for the shoutout.  @Taylor Marks - would be GREAT to have you join our meetup. We have an awesome group of locals with all sorts of investing backgrounds. Many invest out of state, many locally, and many both. I personally invest in Ventura and Santa Barbara. Turnkey SFR in this area is a great way to make your money disappear for many years, but if you are willing to get creative and dirty, there are tons of great opportunities. My local investments have done very well. That said, I completely understand that out of state can be more palatable for many reasons.
