Hey @Michael Nijhawan.  My personal take is joining a team is the way to go.  You can leverage the knowledge of those around you, and learn much faster.  On a team you can focus on your strengths, and other team members can take care of/help you with your weaknesses.  Your weakness is their strength.  You'll probably have more fun working on team.
