Your reply confirms what I was beginning to suspect.  I guess it will be tough to build the first few houses, but after that, it will get easier to determine what needs to happen & which rules to follow.  We are just trying to find answers right now so I'm not sure what we will need.  This really helps though.  Thank you for the great information, @Jon Klaus!

Where can we find basic information & rules on building a house in the county in Texas?  We have already contacted local city & county officials & are finding out bits & pieces of information on building a house in the county.  First, they said there are no rules & then there was something said of a setback & then well restrictions, etc. We gathered that over several phone calls with different people of different city & county departments.  Shouldn't there be one place to find this information?  We feel that there is probably one place, whether in a book or online, where we should be able to find all construction regulations, building requirements, etc. for building a house(s) in the county.  Does anyone know where to find this regardless of what Texas county it is?

Welcome to BP, Daniel! I, too, am new & looking for that first deal. Texas has always had a strong market so we're lucky to already live here! I have learned so much just by listening to the podcasts, watching the webinars & now reading The Ultimate Beginner's Guide. Good luck to you!

Good thinking! From what I understand, an attorney is someone to have on your team from the beginning anyway. Thank you!

Great guide, Shane!  Thank you for this!  I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go through the licensing process, but this is definitely getting bookmarked!  Thanks, again!

Shane Woods Howdy Shane! Good to hear from someone local! That's great news about our local market! I'm ready to get my license & buy some properties, but in the education stage (guess I'll always be!) right now. What brokerage do you work with? How & where did you take your pre-licensure classes (online or at a school)? We are aiming to buy something before Baby is born, but our plates are FULL regardless! Thanks for your reply! Let's keep in touch!
