Hello, can anyone share their experience with Airbnb in metro detroit? Like consistency of nights booked per month, unit type, rent rates, etc. Any tips appreciated too.

Towns such as troy, clawson, royal oak, berkley, hazel park, oak park, ferndale, Madison heights, etc.

I'd be very interested to chat. I've been learning REI for about a year and actively searching for my first deal. I created a local meetup event in Troy.

What's your "why". What are your long term goals and if you reverse engineer (break it down) to actionable steps does it make more sense to do one or the other? Can you prepare for both paths in parallel until you reach that fork in the road where you have to decide? Is there a way to "prototype" in each path by working for someone in each field for free, job shadowing, networking,  etc? If the long term goal is real estate, then what skills will you learn as an analyst or advisor and would one be better than the other?

Knowing your why is the key. Theres some BP podcasts that go through that, if anyone has podcast #s that would be great. I think 228 is a good one if I recall

Those people are looking for properties on mainstream services I would presume. Change your search strategy, change your criteria, change your frequency of searching. Do what most others are not doing...

Congrats on the property! Do you plan to do renovations in the 2 month windows you have for paid vacancy? Also how difficult is it to do renovations on historic property in your area?

In metro detroit, towns directly surrounding royal oak are on the rise. Royal oak is good as well but expensive.

Hi Mack, is agree with the above points have a couple myself. I recommend visiting the neighborhood some days before or at least ~30min prior to showing. If you scope it out at different times of day that can give you a feel for the area. Depends on how much time you have and how far it is. You might be able to talk with the neighbors or even the tenants.

Also would recommend lots of pics or video to refer to them later when accessing work required and home value.
