Yes, it's the tax that went up $4K. Not talking about home price. And it's not my property. It's just some property I checked out. I thought I'd ask BP. 

@Mike McCarthy Yes there is easy access to the attic. Yes they are both 1 bath units. Should get $200 more with 3 br. 

I almost close on my second deal. Still as scared as the first deal. Especially after losing about $30k on a bad business deal last year (not related to real estate). I buy out of state, so everything is long distance. Also trying to manage them myself. My mom freaked out after I told her I bought a duplex in a different state. But I know I have 3 options: blow my money on toys, vacations or lottery, put my money under my pillow or learn to invest and possibly grow it. I chose the latter. If I lose some money, unlike buying toys, at least I learnt something. I realize you can only listen & learn for so long, one day you will have to jump in. And for me it's time. 

As far as payments. I think want to use 2 options: my back account and Cozy.co

I almost close on a duplex. 3 bed and 1 bed. Is it a good idea to add 2 more bedrooms to the 1 bed unit? there is plenty of room in the attic.

What causes a property tax on a property to up & down?

I saw a property with a property tax that jumped $4000 in a year. How did this happen?
