It just seems like I'd be able to grow my portfolio much faster in a different more cost effective area

Hello everyone!

I am mid flight of my very first flip and it's going well. I bought very cheap and it appraised higher then I expected so needless to say I was pretty excited. I'm looking for some brutal honesty here guys. I should be able to clear 60k on this flip and I'm considering getting out of California for a multitude of reasons. I'm looking into places like Cleveland OH or Rochester NY for their very reasonable cost of living and real estate prices. Would it be worth uprooting and going some place cheaper with the kind of money I hope to get from this flip? And I also have a potential business partner as well so I have the possibility of getting into a fair size deal if I end up in one of the places I mentioned above. My current goal is to get to 100 doors and it seems much more possible elsewhere. This has been racking my brain for the past month so any and all pieces of advise will be greatly appreciated, thanks again everyone.

ultimately I want to buy and hold. But being able to buy this cheap and flip and go after more units sooner would be nice as well.

Hello bp! I'm needing some help with my plan of attack. I will be buying a single family home from my parents very soon. I will be buying it for about 95k to 100k and from what research ive done, houses in the area are selling for 150k to 160k. The problem I'm facing is I would actually like to live there for now and I can't very well brrrr a place I'm living can I? Should I fix and flip bcuz I'm buying so cheap? Feedback would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again.

Hello BP family! My Name is Adam Noble. I'm 27 years old and still trying to figure out what the heck i want to do with my life, but there's something about real estate that continues to draw me in. I know i do not want to work a 9-5 job the rest of my life nor will I be retiring my parents that way either. I'm green as grass to this gig so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I've done a lot of research on the brrrr strategy (thanks to bigger pockets) and I'm getting close to buying a house from my parents. From what research I've done, the house is worth 130k to 150k and I most likely will be buying the house for what they owe, so about 100k or less. I would like to implement the brrrr strategy while I live in the home, so i will still be living in the home as i refinance my money out to then go after more from there. The house is in good condition as is, but I have a list of things I would like to do. Paint, flooring of the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, resurface the cabinets ect. Can it be done this way? Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
