Well, here are some of the pro/cons of PreFormat.

Pros:
Developed quickly
No extra effort by you

Cons:
Looks like everyone elses
Hard to distinguish in search rankings from other pre-formats
Must follow their format
Doesn't follow your brand as well as a custom site
Hosting is more expensive typically

Hope that helps in some way.

First, let me say WELCOME.

IN Chicago the Winter comes as well. Let me just state that many investors I know just sort of take a break from December thru February. I think that is just ridiculous. I mean, maybe selling slows down some, but renting still takes place.

Oh and best of all, people that are trying to sell now have less buyers and are more motivated. I have picked up my best deals in the winter months!

BiggerPro is out west some, so he has an advantage of those of us in more eastern time zones!

Welcome to the site. Madison is not far from me in Chicago! I drive through all the time.

When is the best time to start? NOW! that is always the right answer. Just like those 'You Are Here' signs.

Welcome to BiggerPockets!

I am not from the area, but I have been to Midland many times in my life to visit relatives. Wish I could be of more assistance than that!

These forums are great. Plenty of wisdom here!

Shawn,

Hey welcome. Congrats on finishing up over at UIC! Bigger Pockets is a great resource. Take it from a fellow Chicagoan!

Yes that is right, WRIGLEYVILLE here!

Rich Dad is a good start, but it is mainly theory. How you transition to application is up to you. This site is great. If you want to talk locally, drop me a line and we can discuss!

I have sent numerous e-mails about this. I wanted to sit down with Richard and discuss several great opportunities, but I am not sure they have all their plans put together just yet.
