Wholesaling in Another City/State

Is anyone wholesaling in a city or state that you don't actually live in? Are you doing so solely on your own (without a trusted person ton look at houses, get the contract signed etc)? I really want to know if anyone is wholesaling via email and fax and relying on pictures from the seller/home owner.

I have a wholesaler who lives in Australia who is wholesaling here in Memphis.  He does have someone here who then goes to take all the pics for him once he has the home under contract.
