Is there a use for outsourcing small data tasks?

Hello everyone! I'm a Cincy local and currently work in IT doing business intelligence work.

I've been wondering for some time if there is a market for doing small data tasks (data entry, data management, etc.) for real estate investors in the area. However, I keep finding myself returning to the idea that these are things that a virtual assistant would help out with and not something that people would be looking for as a sole service. This leads me to ask the following questions:

- What type and what volume of data do you use in your real estate investing? (Generalized, such as contractor info, lead info)

- If you were looking for someone to handle your data, what skills would you look for in them?

- Would you find it useful to outsource this as a sole service to free time up for you or others?

Thanks for reading and, if you've got the time, I would appreciate your feedback!

Hi from Columbus Adam,

I think your head is in the right place and you may have something if you could market it properly. You are right that a lot of people hire VAs to do quite a bit of this work, but VAs only work as well as people train them. So if you came to table already with skills or suggestions for organizing large amounts of data,I think that could help you stand out.

I actually know of small business in Columbus that is a type professional organizing for your business. They help companies set up systems to allow the owners and employees more time for revenue generating activities. I believe the name of the company is Brittney and Co.

I am a newer agent and looking to generate more leads and do targeted advertising. I could see hiring someone to assist in pulling and organizing lead lists for sellers and addresses for properties. There are websites for pulling lists, but they can have learning curve and the information is cumbersome, so having someone that already knows what they are doing with be really helpful.

I hope this gives some thoughts and suggestions. Feel free to reach out if you would like to connect.
