Is a direct mail list dead after 5 mailings?

I have some lists that I have mailed to 5+ times. Should I continue to mail to them? Thanks in advance!

You never really know. If you are mailing to some variation of an absentee owner list, it's sort of luck of the draw. My personal approach right now (first campaign) is to stop after 6 to a list like that (mailed monthly). Some people use 5, others 11. It also depends on what type of list you are mailing to.

Perhaps go back and see what Jerry Pucket and Michael Quarles have to say about it here on BP. Both have been very open about their strategies. I know their strategies have changed over the years as well, so look at newer stuff.
